Day 5: No Alcohol

I’m feeling like I’m not sleeping as much over the last several days, but simultaneously I’m feeling more rested overall. I ended up needing a nap while I was at work mid-afternoon. But I think I consumed caffeine a little earlier than I should have.

I got to train with one of my martial arts teachers for an hour today – it was good. If nothing else simply re-assuring that I’m doing things right (would be even better if I trained more often during the week). But yeah my teacher kept commenting how much faster my hands have gotten, which is saying something considering how long my arms are: ~79 inches from middle finger to middle finger.

I talked to him about going to 5th degree, he said I just need to learn Long 6. So I’ll start on that tomorrow. It’s strange – I’m not in for the belt chase anymore, but it feels like it’s time for me to move up. Especially when I have people above me telling me that I’ve got things I should share.

I tried some homemade “bulletproof” coffee this morning – I threw a couple tablespoons of butter in with 25oz (5 cups) of coffee and also tried a 1/4 tsp of cinnamon and a 1/4 tsp of turmeric into a blender and got it nice and frothy. It was pretty good. I’ll try it again tomorrow, I think I’ll try 1/2 tsp of cinnamon though.
