Wow, I’ve been at this a month already – I’m still getting used to thinking the way I’ve been working toward. That being: “Information is only useful when it’s actionable.”
I’m not as good at catching myself as I’d like, but I’ve found I don’t spend so much time cruising YouTube endlessly. The process of thinking to myself “oh this is interesting, I should make a note” has helped pull me out of the loop of mindlessly watching informational videos – that I’m not going to remember anything about anyway.
I haven’t seen as big of an impact as I would have liked, but I think that’s because I spend more time doing pointless stuff than I was previously aware of.
I’m thinking about the next challenge, and I want to do something where I’m combining the best practices that I’ve tried this year and want to pick up again. I also want to be more accountable for how I’m spending my time. I’m going to give myself a couple more days to think about it and see what I come up with.
